Your responsibilities

Berzelius School's library is shared by all students at the school, and we are now looking for a temporary librarian. You will be part of a small team where you will be one of three librarians. We have a large centrally located library, as well as a book corridor where the lending of teaching materials is managed.

You will work with teams and student groups in the school's various activities and across all three school forms. Your responsibilities include meeting students from all activities and collaborating with teachers in various work and subject teams regarding their teaching.

An important part of your work will be to strengthen students' digital competence and develop their media and information literacy. This is done, among other things, through guidance and teaching in information retrieval and source criticism. You will lead book circles and other reading-promoting activities together with teachers to develop students' learning.

In the spring, there will be a reorganization of the library, including new furniture, which means there will be some physical work involved in moving books, etc.

Berzelius School is centrally located in Linköping, within walking distance from the travel center. The school is well-established and development-oriented, with students from all over Östergötland, although the majority are from Linköping Municipality. Here, there is a middle school, high school, and adapted high school.

The high school includes science and technology programs as well as introductory programs for newly arrived students and an individual alternative.

The middle school includes, among other things, a sports profile and a national elite education in mathematics and science.

Our adapted high school has two national programs and an individual alternative. There are approximately 2000 students and over 300 employees at the school.

You who are applying

We are looking for someone with a university degree in library and information science or equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have good knowledge of literature, and it is an advantage if you have experience working in both the school environment and a multicultural setting, as well as having broad IT skills.

In the role of librarian at Berzelius School, you have an interest in and knowledge of fostering a love for reading and creativity. You enjoy working with people and find it easy to build good relationships with the school's students. You are flexible, innovative, and see opportunities with digital technology in educational contexts and are willing to try new working methods. As a person, you are responsible and can work both independently and collaboratively with others.
